Data Warehouses are for the storage and retrieval of student information. Everything from student achievement to demographics, to attendance and discipline may be stored. Data may be used by teachers to set goals for their students, and to inform instruction. Reports may also be created by the use of this data. FERPA/HIPPA laws are important because they protect the privacy of our students. It is important whenever student information is being posted, such as their grades, that a random code is assigned to each student so that their grade is listed by their assigned number, versus their name or social security number.
